1740: Martin Keown on BBC Two: "France are very well organised and dominant in midfield. Technically they are very gifted and they are shooting from all angles, and Karen Bardsley has made some fantastic saves. But I think England can do a lot more - they are being undone down left flank and Rachel Unitt and Rachel Yankey need to get together to stop that. Also, Ellen White is on her own up front and England need to get more players up into the final third to support her. It is only half-time but Hope Powell needs to sort out where the problems are and change things."
1747: A late England surge in stoppage time does little to distract from them being out-played for much of the half. But for all of France's dominance, they haven't converted their chances. The score remains 0-0 and so all to play for.1740: With five minutes to go in the half, France are continuing to exert their dominance. They've managed eight shots to England's one. Once again the Lionesses will need to step it up after the interval. I wonder what substitutions England manager, Powell, has in mind.
1735: English hearts in mouths as a Bardsley clearance is charged down. It fizzes well wide in the end but for a moment…
1730: France are enjoying themselves. A nice looking Thiney through ball is met by Delie whose resulting shot is charged down by England captain White. The following corner leads to a powerful Necib shot which soars over the bar. Les Bleus don't seem to mind shooting from distance.
1726: Thiney rifles in a shot from outside the box following a French counter-attack. Bardsley saves well. French look dangerous on the break as they press forward with pace.
1714: A dangerous ball sweeps across the England box from Lepailleur but defender Scott sees it out. France seem to enjoy these longer, loftier balls, in contrast to England's last opponents Japan who kept the their passing short and sweet.
1710: Great block from 'Crouchy' aka Jill Scott to thwart a French shot on the edge of the area. The Lionesses have started well, pressing France all over the pitch to keep them under pressure. Great to see a livelier Kelly Smith - if she plays well, England certainly will too.
1704: France's number 10, Abily, attempts a shot from way out. England keeper Bardsley is equal to it. Meanwhile, England's Fara Williams has picked up a yellow card already. Only her side's second of the competiton.
1700: They've kicked off. Blazing start from England as Kelly Smith beats the off-side trap, rounds the French keeper, Deville, but has her shot at the open goal blocked.
1655: Strong words from BBC Sport pundit and ex-England international Martin Keown: "The women's team have put the men to shame in the way they've really embraced this tournament. I'm very confident." Refresh your pages now and you can watch for yourself at the top of the page.
1645: If you're seeing video at the top of your screen, that's fine, it's a live stream of BBC Two where the match will be shown in five minutes (1650 BST).

1630: Do you want the good news or the bad news? Always best to get the negative stuff out the first, isn't it? Bad news is England Women haven't beaten the French since 1974 and have never got past the quarter-final stage of a World Cup…
