Sneijder to play in China - Inter

Inter Milan say Wesley Sneijder will play in Saturday's Italian Super Cup game despite continued speculation he will be sold to Manchester United.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a £35m move to Old Trafford, with some reports on Tuesday suggesting the deal could be done this week.

But he has travelled to China for Inter's game with AC Milan in Beijing.

"He's playing for us, training with us and he'll play on Saturday," said Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

He continued: "There is no Sneijder problem."

Netherlands international Sneijder, who signed a five-year contract extension with Inter in October, added: "It's the first time I have set foot in China. It is an honour for me.

"We are here to play an important match. It is special for two reasons - because we are in China and because it is a derby.

It is the second time the Italian Super Cup has been staged in China. In Beijing two years ago Lazio beat Inter in the game between the Serie A and Italian Cup winners

"I am convinced that Inter can do well and I will do everything to make this happen. We want to win. We're here to win."

Speculation that Sneijder could move to England has persisted despite United boss Sir Alex Ferguson denying he has been in contact with the player.

However, earlier this week Sneijder did not rule out a move, saying: "I have played in many big competitions in Holland, Spain and Italy and I'm still here.

"What is going to happen we will see but I am a happy guy.

"There is always a chance something will happen but we will see."
