Lewis Hamilton wins the German Grand Prix, Mark Cavendish wins the green jersey and day four of Lord's Test between England v India - plus more.

1852: VOLLEYBALL - Great Britain men's indoor volleyball team complete their Olympic test event at Earls Court with a four-set victory over Egypt, a side ranked 80 places above them in the world rankings. Brazil beat the USA in a reverse of the 2008 Beijing Olympic final, but it was Serbia who claimed the gold at the London Prepares Series event, with Brazil second, the USA third and Britain fourth.

1754: ATHLETICS - Britain end the European Athletics Junior Championships with 15 medals - six gold, five silver and four bronze - for third place on the medal table behind Russia and Germany.

1738: ATHLETICS - Estonia's Liina Laasma, 19, went from fourth to first in the final round of the women's javelin to win gold at the European Athletics Junior Championships. It was the host's only medal of the championships.

1734: RUGBY LEAGUE - The draw for the semi-finals ofthe Challenge Cup: Wigan v St Helens and Castleford v Leeds. Ties will be played over the weekend of 6-7 August.

1708: RUGBY LEAGUE - St Helens ease into the last four of the Challenge Cup with a ruthless 54-56 destruction of Hull Kingston Rovers. The Challenge Cup semi-final draw will be made live on BBC Two immediately after the conclusion of Hull FC v Leeds quarter-final.

1702: FOOTBALL - Bolton beat Bradford 4-1 at Valley Parade in their first pre-season friendly.

1636: CYCLING - Green jersey winner Mark Cavendish on ITV4 - "I'm so happy, so proud of the guys - they're incredible. It's a great way to finish the tour. We worked so hard for it. They changed the [green jersey] rules this year, but it has worked out. We really had to fight for it this year but it's so, so worth it. I've been trying to get this for the last few years so I'm super happy and it's super great."

1631: BREAKING CYCLING - Australia's Cadel Evans wins the yellow jersey in the Tour de France for the first time in his career.

1630: BREAKING CYCLING - Isle of Man sprinter Mark Cavendish wins stage 21 of the Tour de France and with it the green jersery for best sprinter.

1609: ATHLETICS - Turkey's Esmir Ayedmir wins the women's 5000m at the European Junior Championships with Brit's Emelia Gorecka and Annabel Gummow winning silver and bronze respectively.

1602: BREAKING GOLF - Wales Open winner Alexander Noren of Sweden wins the Scandinavian Masters in Stockholm.

1555: TENNIS - France's Gilles Simon has won the German Open, beating Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-4 4-6 6-4 in the final.

1523: ATHLETICS - Great Britain were beaten to gold by France in the men's sprint relay at the European Junior Championships in Tallinn. The French team recorded a time of 39.35 seconds, with Britain clocking 39.48.

1518: ATHLETICS - No third gold in the sprint relay for Jodie Williams at the European Junior Championships in Tallinn, but she does make up three places on the anchor leg to snatch the bronze medals for Great Britain in 45.00 seconds. Germany broke the 23 year-old European Junior record to win in 43.42.

1509: FORMULA 1 - Latest standings in the Drivers Championship: 1. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) 216 pts; 2. Mark Webber (Red Bull) 139; 3. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) 134. Constructors: 1. Red Bull 355; 2. McLaren 243; 3. Ferrari 192.

1506: FOOTBALL - Joey Barton on Twitter: "I will most likely leave Newcastle at end of season, when my contract expires and I am no longer employed. Its out of my hands." 1500: CYCLING - The final stage of the Tour de France is well under way. Cadel Evans is safe in yellow, Samuel Sanchez is likewise in the King of the Mountains polka dot shirt and Pierre Rolland in the best young rider's white jersey. 1444: FOOTBALL - German side Bayern Munich were relieved to find out on Sunday that an injury sustained by Franck Ribery was not as bad as feared. The French winger injured his left ankle in a challenge but medics determined the injury would keep him out for only one week.

1434: FOOTBALL - Chelsea have continued their pre-season tour of Asia with a 4-0 win over Thailand All Stars. Frank Lampard, Jose Bosingwa, Branislav Ivanovic and Florent Malouda were on target for the Blues.

1425: OLYMPICS - The preisdent of Turkey's Olympic committee says Istanbul is likely to bid to host the 2020 Games, reports the Associated Press. Istanbul ran four consecutive failed bids to host the Olympics in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012.

1419: CYCLING - Yellow jersey-wearer Cadel Evans has dropped to the back of the peloton for the race-winner's traditional glass of champagne as the riders meander through the suburbs of Paris. There are still points up for grabs in the race for the green jersey though, so expect the racing to begin soon. 1412: CYCLING - Mark Cavendish's girlfriend Peta Todd tells ITV4 that she is more proud of Mark when he gets from one side of the Alps to the other than when he wins a stage.

1330: SNOOKER - England's Stuart Bingham beats Mark Williams 9-8 to win the Australian Goldfields Open at Bendigo.

1258: SWIMMING - Australia win the men's 4x100 metres freestyle relay gold at the World Aquatics Championships. The Australians upset the heavily favoured French, who claimed silver, and the United States, who had 14-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps swim the lead-off legbut only managed bronze.

1231: CRICKET- England lose another wicket at Lord's with Ian Bell edging one to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. England now 55-4 with Jonathan Trott and Eoin Morgan at the crease.

1212: MOTORCYCLING - Former double world superbike champion James Toseland has spent more than £25,000 of his own money in a bid to save his career after serious injury. The 30-year-old was just 24 hours away from losing the use of his right hand following a crash in Spain in March. He had to pay for surgery and rehabilitation himself because the incident happened during testing and he was not insured.

1205: SWIMMING - Double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington wins silver in the 400m freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships. Italy's Federica Pellegrini defends her title. You can follow live coverage on the BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport website.

1153: ATHLETICS - BBC Sport's athletics statistician Mark Butler: "The British sprint relay teams have safely qualified for their respective finals at the European Junior Championships despite resting new individual champions David Bolarinwa and Jodie Williams. Our men had much the fastest qualifying time of 39.85secs as the favourites from France (40.15secs) struggled with their baton exchanges. Britain will now be represented in eight finals during the final session of the championships this afternoon."

1110: FOOTBALL - Former Rangers boss Walter Smith tells Radio 5 live's Sportsweek programme that he has not ruled out returning to management - but it will not be in Scotland. "I never said I would retire, I said I would just be leaving Rangers."

1051: DIVING - Qiu Bo's victory in the men's 10m platform World Championships completed a clean sweep of victories in all 10 diving events for China.

1044: CRICKET - A little more on Sachin Tendulkar, from the live text commentary: "He won't be on the field of play this morning, but may come back later after further medical assessment," reports BBC Sport's Tom Fordyce. 1034: CRICKET - Sachin Tendulkar has a viral infection and is resting under medical advice, says TMS producer Adam Mountford on Twitter. 1030: DIVING - Britain's defending 10m platform world champion Tom Daley produced a terrific final dive, scoring 95.10 points, to finish in fifth with 505.10 points as China's Qiu Bo took gold with 585.45. Pete Waterfield finished 11th.

0925: FORMULA 1 - BBC Sport's Sarah Holt on Twitter: "Some good news for home fans. Timo Glock has signed a new long-term deal with Virgin Racing so he'll be on the grid for a wee while"

0920: FOOTBALL - Mohamed Bin Hammam has alleged his life ban from all football-related activity was decided before Fifa's ethics committee heard his case. "I was expecting it actually," Bin Hammam told Radio 5 live's Sportsweek.

0855: CYCLING - Barring accidents or illness, Australia's Cadel Evans is set to win the Tour de France today as, traditionally, the main contenders for the yellow jersey do not race on the final stage into Paris. However, Britain's Mark Cavendish will be looking for a third successive victory on the Champs Elysees.

0848: SNOOKER - Stuart Bingham, playing in his first ranking tournament final, opened with a 139 break against Mark Williams. The best-of-17 frame final is 4-4 at the interval.

0830: DIVING - Britain's Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield are in the final of the 10m platform diving competion at the World Championships in Shanghai this morning. The competition was due to begin around 0900 BST, but has been delayed by stormy weather. There will be live coverage on the BBC Red Button.

0815: FORMULA 1 - BBC Sport's Sarah Holt on Twitter: "Big props to those fans who've turned up early for the German GP. It's wet, windy and downright miserable. Perfect racing weather eh?"
