1748: England will probably go into the break disappointed with that half. They were in the driving seat for much of the game with midfielders Smith and Williams dictating play and creating chances. Mexico's goal on 33 minutes changed all that to take the spring from England's step. The Lionesses will need to come out lively after the interval.

1745: HALFTIME Mexico 1-1 England

1740: That equaliser has put England on the back foot a little. They no longer hold the lion's share of possession and their passing is not as crisp as it was. The players don't appear to concerned, though so no panic. England will need to bide their time.

Dazzling strike from Monica Ocampo leaves England keeper Bardsley scrambling in her goal. From outside the area, the Atlanta Blue forward curled her shot into the top corner of England's net. England were in control. Now the Mexicans can smell goals.

1732: GOALFLASH Mexico 1-1 England (Ocampo)

A fine looping header from Fara Williams gets England off to a perfect start in Wolfsburg. Carney's pin-point cross eluded the Mexican defence to reach Williams on the edge of the penalty box. Game on.

1720: GOALFLASH Mexico 0-1 England (Williams)

BBC analyst Lucy Ward: "It's going to be difficult for England not to get frustrated here because the Mexicans are defending deep and in numbers. England are going to have be patient."

1707: Kelly Smith gets England's shot counter off the mark. England's star player shoots from just outside the 18-yard box which goes wide. Great work-rate from winger Carney to deliver the ball into the danger area.

1705: Scramble in the England penalty box before captain Faye White clears from Dominguez's driving run. The 32-year-old is going to be one to watch in this match. But England are back on the ball and in control. Crisis averted.

1700: The anthems have been sung, shirts tucked in and shorts pulled up. The waiting is over as the ref blows her whistle. England have the majority of possession in the opening two minutes. Solid start.
