Meireles and Arteta in late moves

Raul Meireles has joined Chelsea from Liverpool Meireles left Liverpool in one of the deadline's dramatic and surprising moves

Raul Meireles and Mikel Arteta swapped the city of Liverpool for London in dramatic deals on a busy transfer deadline day.

Meireles moved from Liverpool to Chelsea, while Everton's Arteta joined Arsenal along with Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

Arsenal also signed Germany defender Per Mertesacker and left back Andre Santos from Fenerbahce for £6.2m as Arsene Wenger re-shaped his squad after Sunday's 8-2 defeat by Manchester United.

Manchester City completed the free-transfer of former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves and allowed out-of-favour forward Craig Bellamy to rejoin former club Liverpool.

  • 2010: Asamoah Gyan [Rennes - Sunderland] £13m
  • 2009: Richard Dunne [Manchester City - Aston Villa] £6m
  • 2008: Robinho [Real Madrid - Manchester City] £32.5m
  • 2007: Glen Johnson [Chelsea - Portsmouth] £4m
  • 2006: Ashley Cole [Arsenal - Chelsea] £5m p/e
  • 2005: Michael Owen [Real Madrid - Newcastle] £17m
  • 2004: Wayne Rooney [Everton - Manchester United] £27m
  • 2003: Claude Makelele [Real Madrid - Chelsea] £16.6m

Liverpool let two players depart for France, Joe Cole moving to Lille on a season-long loan and midfielder Christian Poulsen joining Evian.

Manchester United did not make any deadline day deals, with Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder revealing on Twitter that he would be staying in Italy.

Fulham and Stoke made major striker signings.

Fulham bought FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz for £10.6m, beating off a late rival bid from Newcastle United.

Stoke broke their transfer record to sign Tottenham's Peter Crouch for £10m, and also bought Wilson Palacios from Spurs for a fee believed to be around £6m.

Spurs also let Jermaine Jenas and Alan Hutton move to Aston Villa, the latter opting for the West Midlands over a move to Fulham.

Tottenham winger David Bentley joined West Ham on a season-long loan.

Spurs completed the deal for West Ham United's Scott Parker, but failed to sign Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

Sunderland ended their search for a striker when Nicklas Bendtner moved from Arsenal on a year-long loan deal.

Arsenal also let young striker Joel Campbell, who only signed last week, join French side Lorient on loan, following team-mate Gilles Sunu, who made a permanent switch to the Ligue 1 outfit.

QPR added Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips to their squad and Sunderland's Anton Ferdinand. Their move for Spurs defender Sebastian Bassong fell through due to Spurs' failure to sign Bolton's Gary Cahill.

As well as keeping hold of their prized defensive asset Cahill, Bolton added new faces by sealing a permanent deal for Liverpool striker David Ngog and a loan switch for Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta.

Blackburn raided Goodison Park to sign striker Yakubu, and also complete moves for Birmingham defender Scott Dann and Sheffield United frontman Jordan Slew.

Everton made two loan signings: Real Madrid's Royston Drenthe on loans and striker Denis Stracqualursifrom Argentine side Tigres. The Toffees let Jermaine Beckford to join Leicester.

Wigan completed two deals, signing Celtic winger Shaun Maloney for a fee of £1m and Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt on loan.

Meireles leaves Liverpool for Chelsea

Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles has made a dramatic move to Chelsea in a deal worth £12m.

The 28-year-old handed in a transfer request on Wednesday and has signed a four-year deal.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas worked briefly with the Portugal international at Porto before Meireles moved to Anfield last August.

He is currently injured with a collarbone problem suffered at Exeter City in the Carling Cup.

Earlier this week, Liverpool turned down an offer of £8m plus Yossi Benayoun from their London rivals for the player, who they signed for £11.5m last season.

Benayoun announced earlier on Wednesday he had joined Arsenal from Chelsea on loan.

The Stamford Bridge club turned their attention to Meireles after being frustrated in their attempts to sign Tottenham's Luka Modric.

Meireles found his best form at Liverpool after Kenny Dalglish returned as manager in January and made two substitute League appearances this season, earning praise from Dalglish for his part in both goals in the 2-0 win at Arsenal.

Arsenal sign Arteta and Benayoun

Mikel Arteta Arteta has scored two goals in three matches so far this season

Arsenal have signed Everton's Mikel Arteta for about £10m after the midfielder submitted a transfer request to force through the move.

The Spanish midfielder joined the Gunners on a four-year deal just before the 2300 BST deadline.

The deal had looked dead earlier after talks between the two clubs broke down but Arteta handed in the transfer request an hour before the deadline.

Arsenal also signed Chelsea's Yossi Benayoun, 31, on a season-long loan.

Benayoun, the Israel captain, wrote on social networking site Twitter, said: "I sign with Arsenal, very happy and excited about it, but now my head is only in the game against grecce on Friday, thanks for the support."

Both clubs later confirmed the deal had gone through.

Chelsea offered Liverpool £8m plus Benayoun for Reds midfielder Raul Meireles on Tuesday, but that deal was rejected.

He joined Blues from Liverpool for £5m in July 2010 but was restricted to 10 appearances last season because of an Achilles injury and has seen only one minute of action this time round.

  • Mikel Arteta (Everton)
  • Yossi Benayoun (Chelsea)
  • Marek Hamsik (Napoli)
  • Marouane Fellaini (Everton)
  • Eden Hazard (Lille)
  • Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow)

It had been rumoured Benayoun would be included in an offer from Chelsea for Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric.

Newcastle had also been linked with the Israeli.

Arteta joined Everton from Real Socieded for £2m in 2005 and has scored 35 goals in 208 appearances.

He started his career with Barcelona before spells with Paris Saint-Germain FC and Rangers.

The Spaniard suffered a knee ligament injury in February 2009 and was sidelined for almost a year, and signed a new five-year deal in August 2010.

Arteta was just regaining his top form when a hamstring tear against Birmingham in February hampered his progress. But he was back before the end of the campaign and could reflect on vital goals against Man United and Liverpool amongst his season highlights.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown told BBC Sport that both Arteta and Benayoun would be "solid signings".

But when asked if they would be adequate replacements for the departed Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, Keown added: "No they're not, it's very hard to replace those players.

"I think back to the [Dennis] Bergkamp era, the impetus those players brought. Arteta is a great passer, Benayoun is not getting into Chelsea team. It's a mixed bag for Arsenal fans."

Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner completed a move away from Emirates Stadium just before the window closed, joining Sunderland on a season-long loan.

Marc Anthony Will "Always Love" Jennifer Lopez

In his first interview since splitting from Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony has spoken out and expressed nothing but affection for his ex.

"I'll always love Jennifer," Anthony tells ABC News in an interview that will air tomorrow morning.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony People Cover

The platinum-selling artist has said very little since he and Lopez announced their divorce.

In a Vanity Fair article a few weeks ago, J. Lo said "I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic - and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."

Rumors have also swirled around Anthony and Jada Pinkett Smith, though no hard evidence exists linking these HawthoRNe co-stars romantically.

Ngog and Kakuta make Bolton moves

N'Gog scores for Liverpool

Bolton have completed the signing of Liverpool striker David Ngog on a three-year contract.

The 22-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place since joining the Reds from Paris St Germain in 2008 for £2.5m, managing 94 appearances.

Owen Coyle has been interested in signing the Frenchman for some time and the deal is believed to be worth £4m.

Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta has also joined Bolton on loan until 1 January.

The 20-year-old Frenchman spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham, making seven appearances and follows in the footsteps of Daniel Sturridge, who had a successful loan spell at the Reebok Stadium last season.

Gael Kakuta Kakuta will be hoping for regular first-team football at Bolton

Coyle said: "David will be a great addition to our squad.

"He is quick, can score goals and he knows what the Premier League is all about.

"Added to that there is his European experience with Liverpool in the Champions and Europa Leagues.

"He has represented his country at a host of junior levels and he will offer our team further attacking options.

"We are delighted to bring another quality, young prospect to Bolton."

Bellamy set for Liverpool return

Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy is set undergo a medical to complete a return to Liverpool.

It is understood the 32-year-old was given permission to leave Wales' training camp at Celtic Manor to head off for talks with the Reds.

Bellamy took a flight to Merseyside where he is undergoing a medical while Liverpool and City discuss terms.

The Wales international left Anfield in 2007 after just 12 months at the club having scored nine goals in 42 matches.

Bellamy has a year left on his contract with City, where he has been out of favour since Roberto Mancini took over in December 2009.

Man City complete Hargreaves deal

Owen Hargreaves Hargreaves managed just four appearances in three seasons

Manchester City have signed Owen Hargreaves on a one-year deal.

Hargreaves, 30, who was released by Manchester United after four injury-blighted years at Old Trafford, had a medical at City on Tuesday.

The Calgary-born England international will train with his new team-mates at Carrington on Thursday.

Hargreaves had been linked with West Bromwich Albion before emerging as a shock target for City coach Roberto Mancini.

City keeper Joe Hart was visibly stunned when the news of the former Bayern Munich midfielder's possible arrival as a new team-mate was revealed to him during a media briefing while he was on England duty ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales.

He responded when told of the deal: "Pardon? Is he? Wowzers. Where's that come from? Really? I don't know what to make of that. That's been put right on my toes.

"It could be a massive signing. You can tell how important he was.

Rooney backs Hargreaves City switch

"I've never been involved with him but I saw a lot of him before and how highly he was regarded when he was at Bayern Munich and at Manchester United.

"He's a huge player and if he's fit and a part of Man City, he'll be another great signing."

City defender Joleon Lescott added: "Owen is an experienced player, he has played in the Champions League, is an international. It is only going to be good for the City squad if he signs.

"People ask if it represents a gamble but the club know what they are doing, Owen knows what he is doing. He is still a good player.

"If we can get him fit, I'm sure it won't be very long before he is back to his best. He will be a player with a point to prove after his injuries."

But United striker Wayne Rooney fears his former team-mate will find it difficult to get back to his best.

"He worked really hard and got back last season, played one game and then got a hamstring injury," Rooney said.

"He's been out for a couple of years. I think it will be difficult for him to get back to his best. I hope he can do so.

"From an England point of view he was a type of midfield player that we hadn't really had before.

"If he can get back that would be great but it will be difficult for him."

Hargreaves was England's star performer at the World Cup in Germany in 2006 before joining United for £18m the following year.

Hargreaves played in the 2008 Champions League final victory over Chelsea in Moscow but then began to suffer with knee problems, restricting him to four appearances in three seasons.

He lasted just 10 minutes of his comeback against Wolves last September and United opted not to renew his contract as a result.

Bravo Confirms Scheduled Premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Bravo has now made it official: the season two premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will air as scheduled, this Monday night at 10 p.m. EST.

Controversy has surrounded the series, of course, since Russell Armstrong took his own life this month. But the network said in a statement today that the situation will be addressed at the outset of the opening episode.

"Bravo will proceed with the Monday, Sept. 5 premiere date of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," said Francis Berwick, president of Bravo Media. "Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere. Reediting of the episodes is still underway.

"Our thoughts continue to be with the Armstrong family during this difficult time."

Is this the right decision? What do you think Bravo should do about season two?

Details Disclosed in Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva Custody Resolution

It really is all over between Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva.

The epic, disturbing feud - which included taped rants, allegations of abuse, blackmail and other sordid deeds - came to an end in Los Angeles Superior Court today. It was decreed that Gibson must pay his former lover $750,000 over the next five years. Among other terms:

Mel, LuciaOksana's Loco

  • Grigorieva will continue to reside in a home owned by the actor in California. Gibson will then sell the estate when daughter Lucia turns 18 and turn all profits over to a trust in her name.
  • The parties will split custody 50/50.
  • Neither side is permitted to discuss the the other, or the relationship, in public. Judge Peter D. Lichtman specified that Oksana could not write a book about Gibson.

In 2010, Oksana actually turned down a deal that would have given her $15 million. She thought she could earn more from the Oscar winner. She turned out to be very, very, very, very wrong.

Hargreaves to sign for Man City

Owen Hargreaves Hargreaves managed just four appearances in three seasons

Owen Hargreaves is expected to sign for Manchester City tonight.

Hargreaves, 30, who was released by Manchester United after four injury-blighted years at Old Trafford, had a medical at City on Tuesday.

Wenger has already signed striker Chu Young Park and left-back Andre Santos in the last 24 hours.

Arteta, 29, joined Everton from Real Socieded in 2005 and has scored 35 goals in 208 appearances.

Oscar De La Hoya Admits to Cocaine Use, Thoughts of Suicide

In a new interview with Univision, former boxer Oscar De La Hoya has opened up about the depth of his personal issues, which culminated this spring in a trip to rehab.

"Rock bottom was recently," De La Hoya said, according to an English-language transcript provided by the network. "Within couple of years, just thinking if my life was even worth it. I don't have the strength, I don't have the courage to take my own life but I was thinking about it."

Pic of Oscar De La Hoya

De La Hoya says he's been sober for three months and admits, yes, he was unfaithful to his wife. However: "We are obviously not talking a Tiger Woods here."

Known as The Golden Boy during his time in the ring, De La Hoya retired in 2009 after a 16-year career and 10 world titles. He's worked as a promoter in the sport since.

"There were drugs, my drug of choice was cocaine and alcohol. Cocaine was recent. The last 2 years, last 2 1/2 years and I depended more in the alcohol than the cocaine," De La Hoya said. "It took me to a place where I felt safe, it took me to a place where I felt as if nobody can say anything to me, it took me to a place where I just can reach out and grab my mom."

The athlete says he's joined Alcoholic Anonymous.

Parker completes Tottenham move

Scott Parker scores for West Ham against Liverpool

Tottenham have reached an agreement to sign England midfielder Scott Parker from West Ham for about £5m.

The move comes after the 30-year-old handed in a transfer request on Tuesday, stating that he wished to play in the Premier League.

Parker's switch across London is likely to trigger Wilson Palacios joining Stoke City.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said on Wednesday that Luka Modric would not be leaving the club.

Parker, who joined West Ham from Newcastle for £7m in 2007, was named Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year last season despite the club finishing bottom of the Premier League.

West Ham said they "reluctantly" agreed to the deal, despite their best attempts to keep him at Upton Park.

On the Hammers website, the club said: "West Ham United would like to place on record their thanks for Scott's efforts and wish him well for the future."

Jamie Dingman: Fooling Around on Elin Nordegren?

Tiger Woods' ex-wife Elin Nordegren seems to have things back on track nowadays, but is her new boyfriend Jamie Dingman just as big a player as Tiges?

We sincerely doubt that, but nevertheless, her friends are worried that she’s making all the same mistakes again with her new man, a wealthy investor.

Elin met him at a Red Cross fundraiser ball last winter, calling him “handsome, a gentleman and low-key.” However, whispers of cheating are surfacing.

Given his bizarre ties to Rachel Uchitel, it's not hard to believe.

Cute Elin Nordegren Pic

According to an insider, Jamie “grew up incredibly privileged” and “is a total playboy, exactly the type of guy she should be staying away from.”

“I actually feel sorry for her,” another insider adds. “He has houses and girls all over the world.” Sounds familiar. So what does Elin see in Jamie?

Wealth, for one, but for anti-gold-digging reasons. It’s been estimated that in Elin’s divorce from Tiger she might have scored $100 million or more.

Dating wealthy men is a way for Elin to make sure any new boyfriend is seriously interested in her beyond her bank account ... but is he Mr. Right?

Just because Jamie Dingham isn’t using Elin Nordegren for her millions doesn’t mean he isn’t using her, according to Elin's friends, who are worried.

“Jamie has never married or had kids for a reason,” says the first insider.

Luckily, another source stuck up for Nordegren, saying, “Elin’s not jumping into commitment... She’s making him wait until she’s 100 percent sure.”

T.I.: Released From Prison!

T.I. was released from an Arkansas prison this morning, according to reports. The rapper is now bound for a halfway house of some kind or home confinement.

Back in September 2010, he was sentenced to 11 months in prison after a drug possession arrest on the Sunset Strip. There may have been sizzurp involved.

In any case, it was a clear violation of his probation.

T.I. Pi

T.I. served only about a year for a federal gun conviction in 2009, but after he and wife Tiny were busted in 2010, his probation was yanked and back he went.

Chris Burke, spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, says T.I. was released at 7:29 a.m. local time and "in transit" to begin the next leg of his sentence.

T.I. checked November 1 and was originally scheduled to be released September 29, so he appears to have had about a month shaved off this leg.

Here's hoping he focuses solely on good deeds now, and Tiny can take care of her man's needs without having to worry about a guard seeing.

Tevez gives up on City transfer

By Simon Austin
BBC Sport
Carlos Tevez Tevez has been playing in England since joining West Ham in 2006

Carlos Tevez accepts it will be "impossible" for him to leave Manchester City before the end of the transfer window, BBC Sport understands.

The 27-year-old had been adamant he would leave the club to be nearer to his two daughters in Argentina.

But a source close to the player told BBC Sport: "It will be impossible for Carlos to leave and he knows that."

He added that Inter Milan had made an offer for the striker, but it had fallen short of City's valuation.

The summer transfer window closes at 2300 BST on Wednesday.

Staying at Eastlands will mark something of a comedown for Tevez, who released a statement in July making clear his desire to leave City for family reasons.

A few weeks later, City thought they had agreed a deal with Corinthians for the sale of the striker, only for the Sao Paulo-based outfit to pull out because they could not finalise the transfer before the close of their international transfer window.

Inter Milan have also been consistently linked with the player, but instead opted for Atletico Madrid's Diego Forlan to replace Samuel Eto'o.

A combination of the fee wanted by City for Tevez and the player's salary demands seem to have warded off potential suitors.

Tevez is yet to start a game for City this season, with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko preferred in attack by manager Roberto Mancini.

The forward has also lost the club captaincy to Vincent Kompany, while his place in the Argentina national side has again been taken by Aguero.

Tevez signed a five-year deal with City in July 2009, having moved to the club from Manchester United.

He submitted a transfer request last December, before withdrawing it and helping City finish third in the Premier League table.

Brandi Glanville and Gerard Butler: New Couple Alert?

Are Brandi Glanville and Gerard Butler an item? That's the implication of new tabloid reports claiming the two took part in a public make out session.

On August 27, Life & Style reports, "They were at a private beach party - drinks were flowing, one thing led to another." We all know what that means.

"Next thing you know," a witness says, "They're dancing together to music, hands started getting frisky and it was a full-on make-out! Everyone saw it!"

Everyone saw it. We're convinced. So why is there no pic? "One girl tried to snap a photo of it on her phone, but Gerard politely asked for privacy."

Gerard, who has been filming the surfing movie Mavericks in Malibu, has been linked to Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Biel and Naomi Campbell in the past.

Brandi split with ex Eddie Cibrian, who cheated on her with LeAnn Rimes, in 2009, then joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 2 cast.

Our question to fans: What should he title it?

Beyonce Pregnancy Reveal Breaks Twitter Record

Seeing Beyonce pregnant, with the conception confirmed live by the singer herself, sent the Twitterverse into an absolute frenzy at the MTV VMAs Sunday.

During her performance of “Love on Top,” Beyoncé declared “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me!” and rubbed her belly on stage.

That convergence of events broke Twitter records.

Joe Cole seals Lille loan switch

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole has joined French club Lille on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 29-year-old travelled to France on Tuesday to undergo a medical and, despite a late bid by Aston Villa, has opted to join the Ligue 1 side.

England international Cole moved to Anfield in July 2010 on a four-year deal from Chelsea but made only 11 league starts for the Reds.

He has not featured at all for Kenny Dalglish's side this season.

Dalglish has strengthened his midfield over the summer with the additions of Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing and the club were apparently keen to get Cole off their wage bill.

  • Ray Wilkins, Paris St Germain, 1987
  • Glenn Hoddle, Monaco, 1987-1991
  • Mark Hateley, Monaco, 1987-1990
  • Chris Waddle, Marseille, 1989-1992
  • Brian Stein, Caen, 1988-1990; Annency, 1990-1991
  • Graham Rix, Le Harve 1991-92
  • Trevor Steven, Marseille, 1991-1992
  • Tyrone Mears, Marseille, 2008-2009

Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in signing the former West Ham player, but he instead chose Lille, who will be playing in the Champions League this season after winning their first French league title since 1954.

"With the arrival of England international Joe Cole, LOSC has clearly added to its squad both in quantity and quality," said a statement on Lille's official website.

"The club is pleased and proud that the challenges facing us and our project has attracted a player of this magnitude."

Lille turned to Cole after being rejected by Monaco's South Korea striker Chu Young-Park, who is set to complete a move to Arsenal.

The French champions also failed with a bid for Chelsea's Yossi Benayoun.

This summer they have lost two players to the Premier League, with midfielder Yohan Cabaye joining Newcastle and Ivory Coast forward Gervinho moving to Arsenal.

1305: And yes I will decide what constitutes a 'rabbit-out-of-the-hat' deal and my word is final. Ahem.

1303: Headlines so far to follow, people... but so far the biggest news surrounds non-deals rather than sealed-deals it would seem wouldn't it? Luka Modric? Staying put. Carlos Tevez? Staying put. Wesley Sneijder? Apparently staying put too. It's around about this time, though, that things start getting exciting... and if there isn't a rabbit pulled out of the hat before 2300 BST you can all call me Sammy 'Dull Deals' Lyon. Honest.

1300: THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 10 HOURS

1255: In Nottingham, Forest fans will be deeply concerned by a distinct lack of news but there is more excitement for the Notts Countyhalf, as BBC Radio Nottingham understands a striker is likely to be joining the Magpies later today.

Phil via text: "Ribery to Chelsea confirmed fee of €22m from reliable sources in Germany."

1245: Sunderland have agreed a fee with QPR for the transfer of defender Anton Ferdinand to the London club.

Chris via text: "Here's the deal you've all been waiting for...young striker Michael Smith moves to Charlton from Darlington."

1235: DONE DEAL There was talk of Aston Villa making a late move - but as far as Liverpool are concerned - and as revealed by Dan Roan yesterday - Joe Cole is joining Lille. The Reds have announced on their website that a deal with the French champions is agreed and the 29-year old will join on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.

1232: We can now confirm that the Cameron Jerome-Stoke (re 1227) news is true, having spoken to our people. Happy Potters fans?

1223: A source close to Carlos Tevez tells BBC Sport's Simon Austin it is now "impossible" for Tevez to leave Man City before the end of the transfer window, adding there had been two bids for the player, including an offer of a permanent deal from Inter Milan, but that these did not get near City's valuation.

1221: Manchester City fans... a Carlos Tevez update...

Alistair in Chelmsford via text: "Re 1212: well thats it then we may as well call it a day - there will be no trumping that."

1212: DONE DEAL Peterborough United sign striker Emile Sinclair from Macclesfield on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

1210: If you want to give your reading muscles a rest later, you can watch Dan Walker present a Football Focus special on the BBC News Channel at 1830 BST and 2230. Dan will have Robbie Savage and Martin Keown with him. Or listen to 5 Live's four-hour long Transfer Deadline Day special at 1900. Darren Fletcher will have Savage, David Pleat, Andy Dunn and Ian Dennis with him. Or you could show off, and keep reading this at the same time - up to you.

Adam, Coventry, via text: "Any Coventry City news??? Anything - new striker, coach, office chair???? Please I beg you!"

1200: THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 11 HOURS

1156: Radio 5 Live's Mike Sewell: "I understand Birmingham and Blackburn have yet to agree a fee for Scott Dann but he has been granted permission to speak to Rovers and is in Lancashire having a medical." 1154: As mooted by Phil McNulty earlier, we can confirm that Liverpool's Joe Cole - who was thought to be on the verge of joining French side Lille - is now in talks with Aston Villa. BBC Radio Devon report that Torquay United boss Martin Ling says he has no plans to sign anybody and is hoping no-one comes in with a "phenomenal" offer for one of his squad. 1144: THE INSIDER
Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson doesn't expect any further business to be concluded today after the Owls wrapped up a deal for Bury striker Ryan Lowe late last night. The Owls ended talks with the former Portsmouth striker Lomana Lua Lua after meeting the player at the weekend.

George, Italian United fan, via text: "I have just been told by my cousin who works at Milan airport, that Wesley Sneijder has boarded a private jet heading for the UK????"

1140: Radio Sheffield report Ryan Lowe has signed for Sheff Wednesday from Bury.

1135: Swansea City have confirmed to us here at BBC Sport that they are in talks with Fulham defender Rafik Halliche and Watford defender Adrian Mariappa. 1133: THE INSIDER
Word now coming into us here from Burnley football club, and blow me down if it isn't hot. "We're hoping one in, none expected out." Now, people, take a breather.

Sean, PUFC fan, via text: "A £2.5m offer for George Boyd has been accepted by Peterborough United from a Premier League club, he left training early this morning!!"

1123: RUMOUR MILL
And this, people, is proper rumour material - Keisuke Honda, CSKA Moscow's Japan international playmaker, is trending on Twitter with speculation building he is on his way to... Arsenal. We'll keep you posted.

Anon via text: "Bobby Zamora just boarded a train at King' Cross heading to Newcastle. Wouldn't comment when asked if he was moving!!!"

1117: BBC Radio Sheffield understands that Sheffield United striker Daniel Bogdanovic has held preliminary talks with Blackpool about a move back to the Championship. The 31-year-old, who's currently away on international duty with Malta, has made just 12 starts since his move to Bramall Lane to Barnsley.

1111: DONE DEAL United States midfielder Michael Bradley, the former Aston Villa loanee, has moved from Borussia Moenchengladbach to Chievo Verona, becoming the only American player in Italy's Serie A. Yes, it's quite quiet at the moment.

James via text: "Just seen Mauro Zarate arrive at Melwood to be greeted by Comolli and Kenny! These two are geniuses in the transfer market!"

1108: BBC 5 Live's Mike Sewell reports: "Difficult to see how Blackpool (who have been in talks with Ipswich) are going to sign Jason Scotland before the end of today. I understand he's currently 5,000 miles away visiting his family in Trinidad!"

Christophe, M6 (southbound) via text: "Gary Cahill just overtook me in his aston Martin on the M6 heading south bound. He looked full of glee to me."

1100: THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 12 HOURS

Steve 13 via text: "Things are that bad at Everton, David Moyes has told sources that they can't even afford a rumour."

1054: Hold on, hold your horses people. It would appear that Guillem Balague tweet re: Eden Hazard/Arsenal was from a fake account. Which can only beg the question... why?

1051: DONE DEAL Bristol City sign Manchester City's 21-year-old Northern Ireland defender Ryan McGivern on a season-long loan, report BBC Bristol. 1049: It's hotting up nicely now people. Chief football writer Phil McNulty can confirm that QPR have agreed a fee with Manchester City for Shaun Wright-Phillips, a move which may still be completed today even though there has been a late hitch over finance.

1046: And an update now from BBC Turkish, who report that the local media claim that West Brom defender Marek Czech has agreed to join Trabzonspor. He is due to arrive in Istanbul today from Vienna where he is with the Slovakian national team to sign his contract. Trabzonspor are also interested in West Ham's Congolese defender Herita Ilunga.

1039: Update now from BBC 5 Live's senior football reporter Ian Dennis: "Owen Hargreaves has passed the medical at Manchester City it's just a question of personal terms, I expect that to be completed by early afternoon. The Scott Parker to Tottenham deal should go through, I think they're still waiting on Palacios deal to go through. I don't know what's holding that up. Tottenham are interested in Gary Cahill, but may have to offload Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Bassong. Bolton I'm told are looking at Nedum Onuoha, so it's like a domino effect at this stage."

Richard P via text: "Just seen Jimmy Kebe arriving at Leicester City's King Power Stadium. £4m bid accepted by Reading. Cashing in on last year of contract."

1033: THE INSIDER
Asked how many players he expects to sign if all goes well today, Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers says: "Up to three or maybe four." Busy.

Tim, Keighley via text: "Arsenal interested in Belgian defender Mark de Man. Apparently, they are also interested in his compatriots, striker Skor de Gaulle and goalkeeper Bloek de Schott."

Chief football writer Phil McNulty on Twitter: "Whispers on the grapevine that Aston Villa may yet try to drag Joe Cole off the Eurostar to Lille and take him to the midlands."

1016: Tottenham fans... check this tweet out from Tom Huddlestone...

Billy, Bolton via text: "Just seen Tony Hibbert de-boarding a barge on the Leeds/Liverpool canal close to the Reebok Stadium."

1011: RUMOUR MILL
Check this one out - QPR are said to be in talks to sign Welsh striker Craig Bellamy from Manchester City. Would be a fine signing, I reckon. Will anyone else make a late move for him? Bolton manager Owen Coyle tells BBC Sport's Paul Plunkett that a deal for Liverpool striker David Ngog could still happen: "He's a very good player and I've been a big admirer for a long time. We'll have to wait and see if it happens today."

1004: Gillingham defender Simon King is set to join Plymouth Argyle on a month-long loan, report BBC South West.

Paddy, Liverpool via text: "Just saw [Everton chairman] Bill Kenwright leaving John Lennon airport with the big Swiss Tobe Le Rone. Don't know were they got the funds for that! Love deadline day!!"

Nathan, Bolton fan, via text: "If Gary Cahill is off to Spurs...why haven't Bolton gone in for Scott Dann? He would be a great replacment! Also, I'd take Bentley as part of the Cahill deal as it looks like we've missed out on SWP..."

0950: And the Stoke news doesn't stop there... a deal for Wilson Palacios is very close, with a fee having been agreed with Spurs, personal terms agreed and the player has passed his medical. The transfer has stalled, however, because Tottenham are waiting to see who they get in. As for Peter Crouch - the Potters have held talks with Tottenham and still have an interest in the player, but they have got no further forward than that.

0943: Stop the press. We've just tried Bolton boss Owen Coyle on his mobile and while he didn't actually answer, we can officially confirm that we connected on a foreign ring tone. Dun dun dun...

James, Everton fan via text: "Transfer deadline day is the most depressing day of the year."

0928: Celtic chief executive Peter Lawell has been talking on his way into business this morning - and confirmed that Shaun Maloney is indeed on his way to Wigan. He denied, however, that anything is happening with Liam Ridgewell.

0923: All right, not the hardest hitting of news, but still.

0922: And talking of Yossi...

Luke, Swansea via text: "Booked the day off for Transfer deadline day, but the missus wants to do something, is it too late to release her on a free or place her on the transfer list? Willing to listen to offers."

0917: And what about Manchester United, huh? Sources at the top level at Old Trafford have hinted their business for this window has long since been completed - but who would bet against them making a last-ditch bid for someone? There is money to spend there, you would think. Wesley Sneijder? One man looking likely to leave the club, meanwhile, is Federico Macheda. Newcastle are thought to be in for him.

Ben, Manchester via text: "Genuine. Carlisle set to sign Man Utd winger Jesse Lingard on loan until January."

0900: RUMOUR MILL
Talk that Arsenal striker Nicklas Bentdner's dad is at Stoke to negotiate a transfer for the Dane from London to the Britannia Stadium.

Matt, Shipley via text: "Just seen Wayne Bridge at Leeds train station. Doubt he's going to Elland Road so must be en route to elsewhere."

0827: By the way - you want to give this page an extremely cheeky manual refresh now, whereupon you will find a magnificent set of videos at the top of this here page. Love it.

Steve, Edinburgh via text: "Never mind Hibs doing any transfer business, how about a new manager."

0822: And don't go thinking that just because there are still 14 hours and 40 minutes until the transfer window shuts that I don't already have actual, real-life, tangible news. Oh no. Usually ridiculously shy with the press, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has broken his vow of silence to update us all on the Luka Modric situation. Linked all summer with a move to Chelsea, Modric - Redknapp insists - is going absolutely nowhere. Are you 100% sure, Redknapp is asked? "1,000,000% sure. He's staying."

Tom, Newcastle fan, Cambridge via text: "Desperate for a new striker. No more goalkeepers please."

0811: And north of the border, almost literally anything could happen. On a transfer front anyway. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibernian... you name them - when they move, we move.

0809: Just think about it. You would have to think that Arsenal have business to do, that Manchester City will be in the mix, that Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle have money to spend, that QPR will continue their push to be the window's biggest movers and shakers, and that Everton might actually, you never know, shock us all and actually spend some real money. Or get a loan in, maybe. And, of course, transfer deadline day without some wheeling and dealing in Tottenham would be like a fish without a bicycle. Nonsensical.

0807: You lot know the score, right? Basically, English and Scottish clubs have until 2300 BST to complete any last-minute signings, at which time the transfer window slams shut and managers up and down the country will have to make do with what they're left with. And believe me, oodles of dealings could yet go through. Oodles.

0804: Well let me tell you this, your pulse is going to peak and trough like never before today, the greatest of all days for gossip, rumour and breaking news enthusiasts. Oh ho ho yes, it's Transfer Deadline Day and, good people of the BBC live text commentary, things are going to get hotter than a firecracker lit at both ends.

0800: Oh hello. Top of the morning to ya. How's the heart rate?

Kim Kardashian Sex Tape to Sell For...

It's safe to assume no one would pay for the rights to the Kim Kardashian music video. Seriously, that thing is a joke.

But Vivid Entertainment Chairman Steve Hirsch has confirmed to TMZ that, yes, a mysterious buyer is trying to remove the Kim Kardashian sex tape from the open market. Would he give the video up, like Kim gave up her precious flower to Ray J and then acted like it wasn't a PR ploy all along?

Yes, for a high price.

Kim Kardashian Sex Tape Still

"Based on its long term value, it looks like $30 million would be a starting point for a discussion on all of the rights," Hirsch told the site, adding that he has "no idea" if Kim is behind the offer, like Ray J was behind her, thrusting, during key moments of the tape.

We'll keep readers apprised of this negotiation, but we want to know: How much would you pay for these rights?

Dancing With The Stars Praised, Assailed For Chaz Bono Casting

The casting of Chaz Bono on Dancing With The Stars has sparked serious debate.

That watershed moment for the gay and lesbian community has been hailed by many, calling it a breakthrough and a triumph for diversity in America.

“Chaz Bono joining the cast of a series like Dancing With The Stars would be a tremendous step forward for the American public to recognize that transgender people are another wonderful part of the fabric of our culture,” said GLAAD.

However, the move has prompted backlash from critics as well.

Chaz Bono Photo

A spokesperson for the Media Research Center, which “seeks to bring balance to the news media and prevent liberal bias from undermining traditional American values” says that Bono's addition to the DWTS Season 13 cast is taking things too far.

“Whether it’s Glee or Dancing With the Stars, this is Hollywood’s insistence on tearing down traditional families," said Dan Gainor, VP of Business & Culture.

"Parents now more than ever must realize they cannot let their kids watch TV without supervision or risk advocating lifestyles that most do not approve of."

Teen Mom Recap: Learning From Our Mistakes

On last night's Teen Mom, there were no major bombshells or blowout fights. Just a lot of family moments we can all relate to. Well, for the most part.

Clearly, Catelynn's family situation is unique, while Amber's entire existence is complete upheaval. But this episode was more about the little things for all.

In which case, bravo, MTV. Let's break down last night's Teen Mom:

Catelynn Lowell, Father

"I'm just excited to have one of my stable parents around again." - Catelynn Lowell. Minus 7 for the fact that the bar is set so low. We've arrived at the point where "stable" means non-incarcerated and relatively non-insane.

Plus 4, though, because at least Dave trusts Catelynn's judgment.

Despite not seeing Catelynn in four years, Dave, who's in Michigan for a job opportunity, proclaims Tyler a "good kid" and seems accepting of his daughter and where she is in her life nowadays. All in all, it could be worse. Plus 8.

"I'm trying to learn from my mistakes, and you can call me anytime and I'll talk through the night," he says. "If she loves you and believes in you, then I do. I'd be proud to have you as my son-in-law." Sniff!! Plus 6.

Farrah Abraham is somehow still on this kick about moving far, far away to go to school, or do whatever it is she plans to do. Somehow we don't think she can afford these places in L.A., or Scottsdale as the case is here. Minus 5.

"This is becoming a huge waste of time." - Farrah. Indeed. Minus 9.

Amber Portwood, Leah Picture

Maci Bookout laments that she will lose time with Bentley if she signs up for classes. Well, sure. But education does have its benefits. Like helping you GETTING A DECENT JOB TO SUPPORT HIM DOWN THE ROAD. Minus 15 for even having to say that.

"Don't look at it as something you hate and don't want to do. Look at it as something that you've got to do to do anything else." - Maci's mom FTW! Plus 6.

Kyle's got this, we feel like. He's gonna see her through. Plus 3.

Also, Plus 5 because at least this put an end to that baby talk.

On this episode, Amber Portwood is dating Clinton Yunker! We remember that guy! This show is like watching a retrospective on THG sometimes! Plus 4.

Gary Shirley tells his brother he and Amber "may not belong together right now," but he wishes they were together. Makes absolutely no sense. Minus 10.

Watching Leah's face light up when Amber plugs in the tree is pure magic. Enough to make you forget what a mess they are, if only for a moment. Plus 9.

EPISODE TOTAL: +6. SEASON TOTAL: -2.

"We stand here today to just say no to slavery, to just say no to tar, sands, oil, and no to the Keystone pipeline," the Kill Bill star said, smiling, prior to being handcuffed, as first reported by CNN.

The protest focused on a huge expansion of a pipeline carrying oil from Alberta, Canada, to the Gulf of Mexico. The State Department will likely greenlight the deal before the year is over.

Coates completes Liverpool switch

Liverpool have completed the signing of Uruguay international defender Sebastian Coates from Nacional.

The 20-year-old impressed in Uruguay's Copa America win in July and has signed a long-term contract at Anfield.

A 6ft 6ins centre-back, Coates passed a medical and secured a work permit and is Liverpool's sixth summer signing.

Coates was last seen on the pitch in Buenos Aires celebrating victory in the Copa America, and accepting an award for the best young player of the tournament. Impressive credentials for a player who is not 21 until October

Read more from Tim's blog

He joins compatriot Luis Suarez, who tweeted: "I want to welcome Coates, partner in the Uruguay team, friend and great player," at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was keen to strengthen his defensive resources after Greek defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos left for Wolfsburg on a free transfer.

Manchester City were strongly linked with Coates but he has now joined a Liverpool squad recently bolstered by the arrivals of midfielders Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing, goalkeeper Doni and defender Jose Enrique.

Rooney not sure over Hargreaves

By Phil McNulty
Chief football writer
Owen Hargreaves Hargreaves managed just four appearances in three seasons

Wayne Rooney fears former team-mate Owen Hargreaves will find it difficult to get back to his best if he signs for Manchester City.

Hargreaves, 30, who was released by Manchester United this summer, had a medical at City on Tuesday.

After further talks, if stringent checks come back all clear, Hargreaves will sign an appearance-related deal.

"He worked really hard and got back last season, played one game and then got a hamstring injury," Rooney said.

"He's been out for a couple of years. I think it will be difficult for him to get back to his best. I hope he can do so.

Rooney backs Hargreaves City switch

"From an England point of view he was a type of midfield player that we hadn't really had before.

"If he can get back that would be great but it will be difficult for him."

Hargreaves was released by Sir Alex Ferguson after four injury-blighted years at Old Trafford.

He had been linked with West Brom before emerging as a shock target for Man City coach Roberto Mancini.

City keeper Joe Hart was visibly stunned when the news of Hargreaves' possible arrival as a new team-mate was revealed to him during a media briefing while he was on England duty ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales.

He responded when told of the deal: "Pardon? Is he? Wowzers. Where's that come from? Really? I don't know what to make of that. That's been put right on my toes.

"It could be a massive signing. You can tell how important he was.

"I've never been involved with him but I saw a lot of him before and how highly he was regarded when he was at Bayern Munich and at Manchester United.

"He's a huge player and if he's fit and a part of Man City, he'll be another great signing."

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott added: "Owen is an experienced player, he has played in the Champions League, is an international.

Lescott backs England manager Capello

Hargreaves was England's star performer at the World Cup in Germany in 2006. He joined Manchester United from Bayern Munich for £18m the following year.

Hargreaves played in the 2008 Champions League final victory over Chelsea in Moscow but then began to suffer with knee problems, restricting him to four appearances in three seasons.

He lasted just 10 minutes of his comeback against Wolves last September and United opted not to renew his contract as a result.

Giuliana Rancic on LeAnn Rimes: Too Thin!

Even Giuliana Rancic thinks LeAnn Rimes is too thin. Not a good sign.

The E! News personality, known for a slender figure herself, recently said she'd love to feed Rimes, saying "She lost a lot of weight from all the stress in her life. She seems a little thin right now and I think she looks great when she's a bit curvier."

Last night, LeAnn heard about Rancic's advice and was not happy.

Skin and BonesGiuliana Rancic Pic

Rimes Tweeted: "@GiulianaRancic hey, we should go to dinner sometime. You get criticized all the time for how small you are ... You can see just HOW MUCH I eat and maybe put a stop to this crazy 'shrinking' once and for all."

"Then we should workout together! Good luck with your restaurant!!!!"

LeAnn gets testy about her weight, as we know. One of her own fans soon found this out firsthand after she mixed it up with her on the subject.

After one of LeAnn's followers said Rimes was being rude, she responded:

"How is that rude?! It's the truth ... I don't appreciate her comments, so I would love for her to hang with me, see who I am. I am a person you know."

Rancic has yet to respond, but it's interesting to hear that Giuliana of all people would comment on someone's weight, and single out Rimes no less.

Hypocritical or just honest? Your comments are encouraged below.

Kim Kardashian Music Video Leaked, INSANE Badonkadonk Displayed

Maybe whomever Kim Kardashian has working behind the scenes trying to buy the rights to her sex tape can negotiate some sort of two-for-one deal.

Another video of hers that she'd rather forget is making the rounds, and while there are no shots of Ray J ransacking that booty, it's still pretty sensual.

Earlier this year, Kim released a song in a hilarious bid to break into the music industry. She even shot a music video that was never released ... until now.

Watch 55 seconds of stunning visuals from the amazingness that is "Jam (Turn It Up)" below. The audio is quite forgettable, but that's always true of Kim:

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries: NYC-Bound!

Mr. and Mrs. Kim Kardashian have arrived in New York City after a brief European mini-honeymoon this week, smiling all the way to the bank/hotel.

Kim also hit up Sunday's VMAs solo.

While his new bride did whatever it is she does in L.A., Kris Humphries was in Minnesota, packing for NYC for the next couple of months.

Why the relocation to the Big Apple?

Kim Kardashian, Husband

Humphries used to ball for the nearby New Jersey Nets, but there's currently no NBA season and he's a free agent anyway. More importantly, the breadwinner of the marriage needs to film Season 2 of Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

Tomorrow, Niche Media founder Jason Binn and wedding planner Colin Cowie are throwing Mr. and Mrs. Kardashian a post-wedding, welcome bash.

Hey, they haven't celebrated their relationship in a public venue surrounded by cameras in a matter of days. We were starting to get scared ...

New on Blu-Ray/DVD: Prom, Skateland & More

While we often focus on what's new in theaters, here's a look at recent movies now on DVD and Blu-Ray, courtesy of our friends at Movie Fanatic.

This week's DVD and Blu-Ray releases:

Prom: A cross-class look at the time-honored H.S. rite of passage that is the late spring dance from two perspectives: Sophomores and seniors.

Prom cover

Madea’s Big Happy Family: Tyler Perry's latest contribution to the big screen shows Madea’s kin stretched thin by crime, cancer and secrets.

In a Better World: Powerful winner for Best Foreign Language Picture centers around a doctor at a Sudan refugee camp at at home in Europe.

Skateland: The closing of a roller rink in a small town in Texas in 1983 is the backdrop for a tale of youngsters trying to find their way in life.

Lady Gaga VMA Costume: Total Junk

Lady Gaga certainly did not leave anything in the bag in her bid to become Jo Calderone at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles Sunday.

The pop star didn't just wear men's clothing and fake stubble. Lady Gaga took dressing in drag to the extreme, wearing a prosthetic penis, even.

Seriously, she was. Talk about getting into character.

Lady Gaga-Jo CalderoneGaga in Drag

Perhaps that was the impetus behind the revelation that Gaga/Jo used to pleasure himself to Britney Spears when he was a kid. He/she didn't say.

"I am from New Jersey," Jo Calderone said. "My family is from Palermo, Sicily. I'm not a singer or a model or an actor or anything. I am just a guy."

A guy who always keeps things interesting, for sure.

Could Chaz Bono Actually Win Dancing With the Stars?

Chaz Bono's joining the Dancing With the Stars cast gave the show major publicity, but it wasn't just done as a stunt or a favor to the LGBT community.

Based on what we know of past seasons and those who have made long runs on the show, Chaz - if he can dance at all - could be among the favorites.

Below, THG breaks down the prospects for the man formerly known as Chastity Bono (with girlfriend Jennifer Ella, below) and the rest of the dancers ...

Chaz Bono and Jennifer Ella

Favorites: David Arquette, Chaz Bono, Ron Artest, Hope Solo, Ricki Lake

If anyone has the notoriety that they can utilize to gain interest and build fan support, it's Bono, who will be paired with a female professional dancer.

David Arquette is probably the show's second biggest "get," especially after his separation from wife Courteney Cox and subsequent bizarre behavior.

We don't know if either one can dance, admittedly. But assuming there's any kind of rhythm there, each could go on fairly sustained runs this fall.

As for Ron Artest (the player soon to be known as Metta World Peace), pro athletes tend to do well, and Ron is very likable beneath the crazy exterior.

Ditto for U.S. World Cup soccer goalie Solo. Ricki Lake, meanwhile, fits the Jennifer Grey mold, having starred in a dance-themed cult classic film.

Underdogs: Nancy Grace, Rob Kardashian

We could well be proven wrong here, but these would be our picks to go home first. Nancy Grace is a polarizing figure and likely won't change that.

As for Kardashian, DWTS is not necessarily kind to reality stars. The fan base is a little different, so he's likely coming in as one of the lesser-knowns.

Plus, even those that love the Kardashians kind of hate the Kardashians.

Dancing With the Stars 2011 Cast

Dark Horses: Chynna Phillips, Kristin Cavallari, Elisabetta Canalis

Phillips has a fan base from her music and acting, even if each is a bit dated. Canalis is George Clooney's ex. That'll have people curious for sure.

Cavallari could be a bust or the real deal. Remember Audrina Patridge? She finished fifth her season and was totally robbed from advancing further.

Kristin's pretty, sassy and could build some strong support. Maybe.

Wild Cards: J.R. Martinez, Carson Kressley

Martinez, the actor and Iraq War veteran whose body was 40 percent burned after a landmine explosion, will touch more hearts every week he lasts.

The question is whether he can do well enough to get through the first few weeks where he may be the cast's least-known member. Total wild card.

Finally, Carson Kressley of Queer Eye For the Straight Guy. He's fallen off the radar a bit in recent years, but still has a loyal following. How loyal?

Stay tuned. This is just THG's take. Now tell us yours:

Russell Armstrong 911 Call: A Chilling Discovery

The 911 call placed after the shocking August 15 discovery of lifeless Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Russell Armstrong has been released.

Be forewarned, it is upsetting.

Russell Armstrong's suicide came weeks before the return of the Bravo show (it's still set for Sept. 5). Here's what happened when he was found:

Russell Armstrong 911 Call

Moments after the body of Armstrong at a friend's home where he was staying, you can hear the caller say, in no uncertain terms, "My friend just hanged himself, do you understand? Come over here and stop asking questions."

Russell's estranged wife Taylor Armstrong was also there, with the friend consoling her, saying "Come here Taylor, it's alright, it's alright."

The 911 dispatcher asked about the status, at which point Russell's friend made it clear Armstrong was deceased. "No, there's nothing you can do," he said.

"There's nothing we can do. Just please come as soon as possible."

The RHOBH will air a special episode dedicated to the incident.

Man City pair keen on Hargreaves

Owen Hargreaves Hargreaves managed just four appearances in three seasons

Manchester City pair Joe Hart and Joleon Lescott say former England international Owen Hargreaves would be a welcome addition to Roberto Mancini's expensively-assembled squad.

Former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves, 30, is a free agent and is said to be in talks with City.

"It is only going to be good for City if he arrives," said Lescott. Hart added: "It would be a good signing."

City refused to comment on the speculation of Hargreaves' arrival.

Voted England's best player at the World Cup in Germany in 2006 he joined United from Bayern Munich for £18m the following year.

Rooney backs Hargreaves City switch

He played in the 2008 Champions League final victory over Chelsea in Moscow but then began to suffer with knee problems, restricting him to four appearances in three seasons.

Hargreaves lasted just 10 minutes of his comeback against Wolves last September and United opted not to renew his contract as a result.

However, in a shock move Mancini is considering giving the former Bayern Munich player a chance with what would, considering his history, most likely be a pay-as-you-play deal.

City keeper Hart, at an England press conference ahead of Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier with Bulgaria, was asked about the possibility of Hargreaves joining.

"Owen Hargreaves has done great for Bayern Munich," said Hart.

Lescott backs England manager Capello

"He has struggled a bit since he came to Manchester United but that is not down to ability, just his fitness.

"If he can get himself fit and does sign for Manchester City, it can only be a positive."

If he were to sign for City it would add some defensive solidity to a side which has been boosted by the arrivals of striker Sergio Aguero and forward Samir Nasri this summer.

Lescott added: "Owen is an experienced player, he has played in the Champions League, is an international.

Solange Knowles Denied By Miami Club, Argues With Police Over Balloon

While her sister Beyonce was revealing her pregnancy, Solange Knowles made headlines for less positive reasons in Miami, Fla., on Sunday night.

According to reports, Solange and her crew were rejected from a club because they had a balloon, which they decided to cross the street to pop.

Yes, this happened ... and resulted in a run-in with the cops.

There they encountered two off duty police officers, and a conversation ensued, which was "casual and light-hearted" at first. Then it went bad.

Apparently, the authorities were not enthralled about Solange being there, or about the balloon, which they brandished a weapon to destroy.

We're serious. According to Solange's rep, these events followed:

One officer pulled out a switchblade and threatened to pop the balloon. They felt it was inappropriate, but the turning point happened when he then took out the switchblade a second time with the blade open and said to them, 'I don't find the humor in this, anymore.' The blade was less than a couple feet away from Solange and her friends.

The officer proceeded to "forcefully" ask them to move, gesturing that they cross the street though there was oncoming traffic. Solange then asked the officer what was it that they did wrong, and he forcefully responded again to move. When a taxi pulled up, they got in and headed home.

Solange made a series of calls to report the incident and was told to be prepared to be arrested when she came in to report the incident if her story was false. Solange simply wanted to report that the officer pulled out a weapon, when she had done nothing illegal, disruptive or belligerent.

Solange is filing a report and has not yet decided on further legal action.

The Miami Beach police said in rebuttal that Solange became unruly, loudly complaining of being rejected from the club for racial reasons.

Solange inisists she never once raised her voice, although even if she did, cops whipping out a switchblade may not have been necessary.

Beyonce's sis has also gone on to state her sincerest disappointment with the Miami Beach Police and how they have handled this matter.

No word if the matter will be pursued any further.

Angelina Jolie Denies Wedding Rumor ... and Pregnancy Rumors ... and Adoption Rumors!

Angelina Jolie wants to clear up a few rumors about herself. Or all of them.

"I'm not pregnant. I'm not adopting a child at the moment," the actress tells Vanity Fair in its October issue, adding that there is no "secret wedding" either.

Weak.

We kid, mostly, but with her upcoming film, In the Land of Blood and Honey, which she wrote and directed, she's got a lot going on these days.

Without her six kids to keep her occupied, the first-time director says she penned the script to avoid going stir-crazy while battling the flu.

"I had to be quarantined from the children for two days," Jolie says. "I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don't watch TV and I wasn't reading. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end."

Pitt has been "so supportive" throughout the project.

"Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things," she says of her partner's constructive criticism. "It's hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don't think he's a fair judge."

So much for rumors that he's blowing her off and they're hardly speaking these days. Sounds like the couple is happy and normal ... shocker.

Brad does apparently have one concern, though.

"Brad thinks I'm going to be a nightmare," she says, regarding her return to acting after her stint as a director. "I had such a good experience he thinks I'm going to be impatient with directors, which I already am."
