1332: BBC Radio Leicester confirm that Leicester City have had a bid "in excess of £4m" for Everton striker Jermaine Beckford accepted. The player is yet to agree personal terms 1325: DONE DEAL Oh we're cooking on gas now. Admittedly at a rather low heat. Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed Wolves midfielder David Davis on loan until January.

Rob in Brum via text: "Out of the blue (or should it be white) I've just seen Roman Pavlyuchenko at Aston Villa!"

1320: DONE DEAL Chelsea transfer news from Stamford Bridge - but it's not exactly a show-stopper, with recent arrival Ulises Davila shipped out on loan to Dutch side Vitesse Arnham. Showbiz. 1317: DONE DEALS Blue Square Bet Premier side Hayes & Yeading United have confirmed the signing of former Bath City left sided midfielder Hector Mackie. Meanwhile, striker Peter Winn, 22, joins Cambridge United on a three-month loan from Stevenage. 1315: The royal blue carpet can be rolled out for Denis Stracqualuisi, reports chief football writer Phil McNulty. The Argentine striker, who currently plays for Tigre, will join Everton on loan.

1313: Stop the press... Everton transfer news...

1310: BBC 5 Live reporters Alan Biggs reports that Mark Beevers could prove a bargain buy from Sheffield Wednesday today. "There's Championship interest and Barnsley may follow up a recent £200,000 bid," he says. "It's not long since the defender was in the sights of Premier League club."

1305: And yes I will decide what constitutes a 'rabbit-out-of-the-hat' deal and my word is final. Ahem.

1303: Headlines so far to follow, people... but so far the biggest news surrounds non-deals rather than sealed-deals it would seem wouldn't it? Luka Modric? Staying put. Carlos Tevez? Staying put. Wesley Sneijder? Apparently staying put too. It's around about this time, though, that things start getting exciting... and if there isn't a rabbit pulled out of the hat before 2300 BST you can all call me Sammy 'Dull Deals' Lyon. Honest.

1300: THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 10 HOURS

1255: In Nottingham, Forest fans will be deeply concerned by a distinct lack of news but there is more excitement for the Notts Countyhalf, as BBC Radio Nottingham understands a striker is likely to be joining the Magpies later today.

Phil via text: "Ribery to Chelsea confirmed fee of €22m from reliable sources in Germany."

1245: Sunderland have agreed a fee with QPR for the transfer of defender Anton Ferdinand to the London club.

Chris via text: "Here's the deal you've all been waiting for...young striker Michael Smith moves to Charlton from Darlington."

1235: DONE DEAL There was talk of Aston Villa making a late move - but as far as Liverpool are concerned - and as revealed by Dan Roan yesterday - Joe Cole is joining Lille. The Reds have announced on their website that a deal with the French champions is agreed and the 29-year old will join on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.

1232: We can now confirm that the Cameron Jerome-Stoke (re 1227) news is true, having spoken to our people. Happy Potters fans?

1223: A source close to Carlos Tevez tells BBC Sport's Simon Austin it is now "impossible" for Tevez to leave Man City before the end of the transfer window, adding there had been two bids for the player, including an offer of a permanent deal from Inter Milan, but that these did not get near City's valuation.

1221: Manchester City fans... a Carlos Tevez update...

Alistair in Chelmsford via text: "Re 1212: well thats it then we may as well call it a day - there will be no trumping that."

1212: DONE DEAL Peterborough United sign striker Emile Sinclair from Macclesfield on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

1210: If you want to give your reading muscles a rest later, you can watch Dan Walker present a Football Focus special on the BBC News Channel at 1830 BST and 2230. Dan will have Robbie Savage and Martin Keown with him. Or listen to 5 Live's four-hour long Transfer Deadline Day special at 1900. Darren Fletcher will have Savage, David Pleat, Andy Dunn and Ian Dennis with him. Or you could show off, and keep reading this at the same time - up to you.

Adam, Coventry, via text: "Any Coventry City news??? Anything - new striker, coach, office chair???? Please I beg you!"

1200: THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 11 HOURS

1156: Radio 5 Live's Mike Sewell: "I understand Birmingham and Blackburn have yet to agree a fee for Scott Dann but he has been granted permission to speak to Rovers and is in Lancashire having a medical." 1154: As mooted by Phil McNulty earlier, we can confirm that Liverpool's Joe Cole - who was thought to be on the verge of joining French side Lille - is now in talks with Aston Villa. BBC Radio Devon report that Torquay United boss Martin Ling says he has no plans to sign anybody and is hoping no-one comes in with a "phenomenal" offer for one of his squad. 1144: THE INSIDER
Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson doesn't expect any further business to be concluded today after the Owls wrapped up a deal for Bury striker Ryan Lowe late last night. The Owls ended talks with the former Portsmouth striker Lomana Lua Lua after meeting the player at the weekend.

George, Italian United fan, via text: "I have just been told by my cousin who works at Milan airport, that Wesley Sneijder has boarded a private jet heading for the UK????"

1140: Radio Sheffield report Ryan Lowe has signed for Sheff Wednesday from Bury.

1135: Swansea City have confirmed to us here at BBC Sport that they are in talks with Fulham defender Rafik Halliche and Watford defender Adrian Mariappa. 1133: THE INSIDER
Word now coming into us here from Burnley football club, and blow me down if it isn't hot. "We're hoping one in, none expected out." Now, people, take a breather.

Sean, PUFC fan, via text: "A £2.5m offer for George Boyd has been accepted by Peterborough United from a Premier League club, he left training early this morning!!"

1123: RUMOUR MILL
And this, people, is proper rumour material - Keisuke Honda, CSKA Moscow's Japan international playmaker, is trending on Twitter with speculation building he is on his way to... Arsenal. We'll keep you posted.

Anon via text: "Bobby Zamora just boarded a train at King' Cross heading to Newcastle. Wouldn't comment when asked if he was moving!!!"

1117: BBC Radio Sheffield understands that Sheffield United striker Daniel Bogdanovic has held preliminary talks with Blackpool about a move back to the Championship. The 31-year-old, who's currently away on international duty with Malta, has made just 12 starts since his move to Bramall Lane to Barnsley.

1111: DONE DEAL United States midfielder Michael Bradley, the former Aston Villa loanee, has moved from Borussia Moenchengladbach to Chievo Verona, becoming the only American player in Italy's Serie A. Yes, it's quite quiet at the moment.

James via text: "Just seen Mauro Zarate arrive at Melwood to be greeted by Comolli and Kenny! These two are geniuses in the transfer market!"

1108: BBC 5 Live's Mike Sewell reports: "Difficult to see how Blackpool (who have been in talks with Ipswich) are going to sign Jason Scotland before the end of today. I understand he's currently 5,000 miles away visiting his family in Trinidad!"

Christophe, M6 (southbound) via text: "Gary Cahill just overtook me in his aston Martin on the M6 heading south bound. He looked full of glee to me."

1100: THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 12 HOURS

Steve 13 via text: "Things are that bad at Everton, David Moyes has told sources that they can't even afford a rumour."

1054: Hold on, hold your horses people. It would appear that Guillem Balague tweet re: Eden Hazard/Arsenal was from a fake account. Which can only beg the question... why?

1051: DONE DEAL Bristol City sign Manchester City's 21-year-old Northern Ireland defender Ryan McGivern on a season-long loan, report BBC Bristol. 1049: It's hotting up nicely now people. Chief football writer Phil McNulty can confirm that QPR have agreed a fee with Manchester City for Shaun Wright-Phillips, a move which may still be completed today even though there has been a late hitch over finance.

1046: And an update now from BBC Turkish, who report that the local media claim that West Brom defender Marek Czech has agreed to join Trabzonspor. He is due to arrive in Istanbul today from Vienna where he is with the Slovakian national team to sign his contract. Trabzonspor are also interested in West Ham's Congolese defender Herita Ilunga.

1039: Update now from BBC 5 Live's senior football reporter Ian Dennis: "Owen Hargreaves has passed the medical at Manchester City it's just a question of personal terms, I expect that to be completed by early afternoon. The Scott Parker to Tottenham deal should go through, I think they're still waiting on Palacios deal to go through. I don't know what's holding that up. Tottenham are interested in Gary Cahill, but may have to offload Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Bassong. Bolton I'm told are looking at Nedum Onuoha, so it's like a domino effect at this stage."

Richard P via text: "Just seen Jimmy Kebe arriving at Leicester City's King Power Stadium. £4m bid accepted by Reading. Cashing in on last year of contract."

1033: THE INSIDER
Asked how many players he expects to sign if all goes well today, Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers says: "Up to three or maybe four." Busy.

Tim, Keighley via text: "Arsenal interested in Belgian defender Mark de Man. Apparently, they are also interested in his compatriots, striker Skor de Gaulle and goalkeeper Bloek de Schott."

Chief football writer Phil McNulty on Twitter: "Whispers on the grapevine that Aston Villa may yet try to drag Joe Cole off the Eurostar to Lille and take him to the midlands."

1016: Tottenham fans... check this tweet out from Tom Huddlestone...

Billy, Bolton via text: "Just seen Tony Hibbert de-boarding a barge on the Leeds/Liverpool canal close to the Reebok Stadium."

1011: RUMOUR MILL
Check this one out - QPR are said to be in talks to sign Welsh striker Craig Bellamy from Manchester City. Would be a fine signing, I reckon. Will anyone else make a late move for him? Bolton manager Owen Coyle tells BBC Sport's Paul Plunkett that a deal for Liverpool striker David Ngog could still happen: "He's a very good player and I've been a big admirer for a long time. We'll have to wait and see if it happens today."

1004: Gillingham defender Simon King is set to join Plymouth Argyle on a month-long loan, report BBC South West.

Paddy, Liverpool via text: "Just saw [Everton chairman] Bill Kenwright leaving John Lennon airport with the big Swiss Tobe Le Rone. Don't know were they got the funds for that! Love deadline day!!"

Nathan, Bolton fan, via text: "If Gary Cahill is off to Spurs...why haven't Bolton gone in for Scott Dann? He would be a great replacment! Also, I'd take Bentley as part of the Cahill deal as it looks like we've missed out on SWP..."

0950: And the Stoke news doesn't stop there... a deal for Wilson Palacios is very close, with a fee having been agreed with Spurs, personal terms agreed and the player has passed his medical. The transfer has stalled, however, because Tottenham are waiting to see who they get in. As for Peter Crouch - the Potters have held talks with Tottenham and still have an interest in the player, but they have got no further forward than that.

0943: Stop the press. We've just tried Bolton boss Owen Coyle on his mobile and while he didn't actually answer, we can officially confirm that we connected on a foreign ring tone. Dun dun dun...

James, Everton fan via text: "Transfer deadline day is the most depressing day of the year."

0928: Celtic chief executive Peter Lawell has been talking on his way into business this morning - and confirmed that Shaun Maloney is indeed on his way to Wigan. He denied, however, that anything is happening with Liam Ridgewell.

0923: All right, not the hardest hitting of news, but still.

0922: And talking of Yossi...

Luke, Swansea via text: "Booked the day off for Transfer deadline day, but the missus wants to do something, is it too late to release her on a free or place her on the transfer list? Willing to listen to offers."

0917: And what about Manchester United, huh? Sources at the top level at Old Trafford have hinted their business for this window has long since been completed - but who would bet against them making a last-ditch bid for someone? There is money to spend there, you would think. Wesley Sneijder? One man looking likely to leave the club, meanwhile, is Federico Macheda. Newcastle are thought to be in for him.

Ben, Manchester via text: "Genuine. Carlisle set to sign Man Utd winger Jesse Lingard on loan until January."

0900: RUMOUR MILL
Talk that Arsenal striker Nicklas Bentdner's dad is at Stoke to negotiate a transfer for the Dane from London to the Britannia Stadium.

Matt, Shipley via text: "Just seen Wayne Bridge at Leeds train station. Doubt he's going to Elland Road so must be en route to elsewhere."

0827: By the way - you want to give this page an extremely cheeky manual refresh now, whereupon you will find a magnificent set of videos at the top of this here page. Love it.

Steve, Edinburgh via text: "Never mind Hibs doing any transfer business, how about a new manager."

0822: And don't go thinking that just because there are still 14 hours and 40 minutes until the transfer window shuts that I don't already have actual, real-life, tangible news. Oh no. Usually ridiculously shy with the press, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has broken his vow of silence to update us all on the Luka Modric situation. Linked all summer with a move to Chelsea, Modric - Redknapp insists - is going absolutely nowhere. Are you 100% sure, Redknapp is asked? "1,000,000% sure. He's staying."

Tom, Newcastle fan, Cambridge via text: "Desperate for a new striker. No more goalkeepers please."

0811: And north of the border, almost literally anything could happen. On a transfer front anyway. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibernian... you name them - when they move, we move.

0809: Just think about it. You would have to think that Arsenal have business to do, that Manchester City will be in the mix, that Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle have money to spend, that QPR will continue their push to be the window's biggest movers and shakers, and that Everton might actually, you never know, shock us all and actually spend some real money. Or get a loan in, maybe. And, of course, transfer deadline day without some wheeling and dealing in Tottenham would be like a fish without a bicycle. Nonsensical.

0807: You lot know the score, right? Basically, English and Scottish clubs have until 2300 BST to complete any last-minute signings, at which time the transfer window slams shut and managers up and down the country will have to make do with what they're left with. And believe me, oodles of dealings could yet go through. Oodles.

0804: Well let me tell you this, your pulse is going to peak and trough like never before today, the greatest of all days for gossip, rumour and breaking news enthusiasts. Oh ho ho yes, it's Transfer Deadline Day and, good people of the BBC live text commentary, things are going to get hotter than a firecracker lit at both ends.

0800: Oh hello. Top of the morning to ya. How's the heart rate?
