Jani Lane, the former Warrant frontman who wrote that rock group's most well-known song, "Cherry Pie," has passed away. He was 47.
The singer's body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, California last night. Officials are yet to reveal the cause of death.
Following his tenure with Warrant, Lane left to pursue a solo career. More recently, he dealt with alcohol-related problems in his professional and personal life, being sentenced to four months in jail after his second DUI arrest in two years in 2010.
Our thoughts go out to Lane's loved ones.
