Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva will be out for about 10 weeks after dislocating his shoulder.
The 21-year-old Brazilian suffered the injury in training and missed United's trip to West Brom on Sunday.
He appeared as a substitute in the 3-2 Community Shield win over Manchester City last weekend.
Rafael has made 73 appearances since his United debut in 2008, including 16 Premier League games last season as the Red Devils won a record 19th title.
United coaches used the wedding ring on Fabio da Silva's finger to tell him apart from twin brother Rafael - until Rafael got married in the summer of 2010
Defender Patrice Evra, winger Antonio Valencia, and strikers Michael Owen and Javier Hernandez also missed the game at The Hawthorns through injury.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said on Friday that Mexico international Hernandez, who has concussion, is more than a week away from returning to training.
