Snodgrass has been used as a substitute twice for Scotland
Leeds midfielder Robert Snodgrass makes his first start for Scotland in Wednesday's friendly with Denmark.
Liverpool teenager Danny Wilson earns his fourth cap and joins Gary Caldwell in central defence, with Phil Bardsley and Stephen Crainey the full-backs.
Captain Kenny Miller plays as a lone striker, with support from Rangers' Steven Naismith.
Charlie Adam, James Morrison and Scott Brown join Snodgrass in midfield, while Allan McGregor is the goalkeeper.
Kris Commons, Alan Hutton and Steven Whittaker withdrew from manager Craig Levein's squad through injury.
Midfielder Commons joined the squad at the team hotel on Monday morning but immediately returned to Celtic's Lennoxtown training complex for treatment on a bruised foot.
He reported back to the Scotland camp before being ruled out, affecting Levein's plans, but not significantly.
"He's quite quickly establishing himself as one of the key players within the group," explained Levein.
"Somebody else will have to take his place.
"What is hugely encouraging for me is the quality of the group as a whole is such now that the drop off (in quality) isn't significant at all."
Hutton is suffering from a knee injury and was not in the Tottenham Hotspur squad as the London side defeated Athletic Bilboa 2-1 on Saturday.
Fellow-full-back Whittaker missed Rangers' 3-1 defeat by Chelsea with a toe injury.
Scotland: McGregor; Bardsley, Caldwell, D Wilson, Crainey; Snodgrass, Brown, Adam, Morrison, Naismith; Miller.
Subs from: Matt Gilks, Iain Turner, Christophe Berra, Grant Hanley, Kevin McNaughton, Barry Bannan, Don Cowie, Graham Dorrans, James Forrest, Barry Robson, David Goodwillie, Craig Mackail-Smith.
