1712: Motherwell have returned to the top of the Scottish Premier League after their win at East End Park. However, Celtic and Rangers have the chance to overtake the Steelmen when they face St Mirren and Aberdeen respectably on Sunday.

1657: What an afternoon! Six-goal thrillers at East End Park and McDiarmid Park and a late winner for Inverness against Kilmarnock. Fifteen goals in total and today's results put Motherwell top of the Scottish Premier League, for 24 hours at least.

Inverness look like they might have grabbed their first league win of the season as Graeme Shinnie fires home from deep inside the penalty area.

Motherwell breathe a sign of relief as Nicky Law makes a darting run from the half-way line and passes the ball into Michael Higdon lurking inside the six-yard box to knock it home.

United are level! Gavin Gunning rises to head Danny Swanson's corner into the net.

And Dunfermline have made things interesting at East End Park. Joe Cardle's shot deflects off a Motherwell defender and finds the net.

Dundee United are back in it. A quickly-taken free-kick sends Johnny Russell into the box and he skilfully evades two players before cutting the ball across for Gary MacKay-Steven, who scores despite the best efforts of Saints keeper Peter Enckelman.

1641: Dundee United are staring at three consecutive defeats for the first time since May 2009.

1638: They're heading into the closing stages at East End Park and the Caledonian Stadium but there's still a bit to go at McDiarmid Park, due to the delayed start to the second half.

1632: The introduction of Danny Swanson has livened up Dundee United as they search for a way back at McDiarmid Park.

1631: Dunfermline's goal has now been credited to Joe Cardle as he was the player who deflected David Graham's shot into the net.

1630: Richie Foran should have done better with a header, picked out by Aaron Doran's cross, but he steers it wide of the post - golden opportunity missed by Inverness to take the lead.

1620: Kilmarnock almost in front at the Caledonian Stadium. Ben Hutchinson takes advantage of a slip by Chris Hogg and bends a shot off the post.

1619: Manager Jim McIntyre makes a double change in a bid to get Dunfermline back into this game. Ryan Mason replaces Gary Mason while Paul Willis comes on for Paul Burns.

1618: Dundee United come close to pulling one back at McDiarmid Park. Paul Dixon's cross finds Johnny Russell on the edge of the box and the forward's header zips past the near post.

1617: With more than half-an-hour left some of the home support at Dunfermline are already heading home. After a great start to the season their side have been woeful.

1615: The ball drops kindly for Cillian Sheridan from a Saints free kick but the striker hoofs his shot high over the crossbar from eight yards.

DW is pleased Dunfermline have signed Craig Easton and has text on 80295 to say: "Good to see that the Pars have signed a midfielder as its been obvious for weeks that we had a weak spot. Unless we get a grip quickly Motherwell could get four or five."

Chris Humphrey makes it 3-0. The winger went on a run past several players before cutting into the penalty area and rattling the ball in off the post. The Dunfermline defence were at fault for giving him plenty of space. Motherwell thoroughly dominant now, Humphrey's first goal of the season.

1609: St Johnstone have started the second half as they finished the first. Dave MacKay bursts into the box and has a shot deflected over. From the corner, Jamie Adams heads just wide at the back post.

1605: Inverness striker Gregory Tade almost repeats his trick from the first half with a carbon copy header that drifts across the face of the Killie goal shortly after the restart.

1603: The matches at the Caledonian Stadium and East End Park are back underway.

1557: Dundee United boss Peter Houston gave referee Charlie Richmond an earful at McDiarmid Park as the teams went off the pitch. Houston is also sporting elbow pads on his jumper - a daring new look or a sign of the hard times at Tannadice?

1554: Three exciting first halves draw to a close with goal action at all three grounds. Time for a quick break to grab a cup of tea!

1552: HALF-TIME St Johnstone 1-3 Dundee United Francisco Sandaza scores his second of the day in the third minute of stoppage time. The striker escaped Garry Kenneth's sliding challenge and produced a composed finish to beat Dusan Pernis. Once again, Sandaza declined to celebrate scoring against his former club.

1546: Another stoppage at McDiarmid Park as Francisco Sandaza and Gavin Gunning require treatment following a collision.

1543: Dunfermline fans are beginning to boo their players at East End Park as Motherwell continue to dominate with four minutes until half-time.

What a turnaround! St Johnstone take the lead at a free-kick. Dave MacKay makes a disguised run and Jody Morris cleverly back-heels the ball to Liam Craig, whose thunderous low shot flies through the United wall and into the net.

1539: GOAL St Johnstone 2-1 Dundee United (Craig)

St Johnstone goal: Francisco Sandaza coolly side-foots his penalty into the net. The big striker did not celebrate the goal out of respect for his former team.

Kilmarnock goal: Dean Shiels works his way towards the Inverness penalty area and curves a superb shot from around 20 yards out past Ryan Esson in the Inverness goal to give Kilmarnock an equaliser as half-time approaches.

1535: St Johnstone have a penalty! Johnny Russell is penalised for catching David Robertson's head with a high boot in the act of clearing the ball.

Lauri Dalla Valle and Frazer Wright both required treatment after a crunching tackle earlier on and Wright has just been booked for tripping the United striker. Injury blow for Saints with Callum Davidson limping off to be replaced by Willie Gibson.

Motherwell goal: Jamie Murphy makes a darting run into the Dunfermline box and his shot takes a deflection off Alex Keddie as it travels into the net. Inverness goal: Gregory Tade heads in after a wonderful cross from Richie Foran to net his first ever goal for Inverness and give the hosts the lead.

1522: A chance for Motherwell's Tom Hateley from a free kick 30 yards out. His shot took a touch off the Dunfermline wall and came off Paul Gallacher's post. A lucky escape for Gallacher who was nowhere near it.

1520: The eagle-eyed among you will no doubt have noticed that I initially credited Motherwell's goal to Keith Lasley when it was in fact Michael Higdon.

1517: An effort from distance by Nick Ross from 25 yards out. Killie keeper Cammy Bell had it covered, but the whizzed past the post. Magnificent shot, but to no avail for Inverness.

1516: Willo Flood is on the post to make a goal-line clearance as St Johnstone's Jamie Adams gets a shot away following a corner.

1509: A spell of pressure from St Johnstone culminates with a shot from Cillian Sheridan skidding into the arms of United keeper Dusan Pernis.

1508: Some news from Celtic; defenders Emilio Izaguirre and Charlie Mulgrew have both agreed contract extensions to stay at the club until 2015.

1507: An outswinging corner from Inverness's Aaron Doran lands at the feet of Nick Ross, who sends his shot over the bar from just inside the Kilmarnock box.

1505: New Motherwell signing Tim Clancy is seeing a lot of the ball in the early stages at East End Park. It's been a positive start from the visitors in the opening five minutes.

What a start for Dundee United, first attack of the match and it's a goal! John Rankin feigned to shoot, slipped a pass to Jonny Russell, who set up Barry Douglas to rifle an angled shot into the far corner from the edge of the penalty box.

The club have also agreed a two-year deal with Omar Daley subject to a work permit. He's at East End Park today before travelling to Jamaica on Monday to sort out the paperwork."

1435: The first Tayside derby of the season takes place at McDiarmid Park with St Johnstone on a high following last week's 1-0 win at Celtic Park and then a comfortable 3-0 midweek triumph over Livingston in the cup. United have lost their last two games and will be eager to avoid three in a row.

1434: Inverness also lost to lower league opposition in the cup during the week with Ayr United triumphing at Somerset Park. The Highlanders are still looking for their first league win of the season but today's opponents Kilmarnock have not lost yet this season.

1432: At East End Park, a win for either side would send them top of the table, for at least 24 hours. A draw would be enough for Motherwell to reach the summit. The Pars sustained a surprise defeat in the Scottish Communities League Cup to East Fife in midweek but Jim McIntyre's side are still unbeaten on league duty and are aiming for a third straight SPL win.
