Chelsea captain John Terry says Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric would be a great signing for the club.
Modric, 25, is thought to have handed in a transfer request at Spurs after they turned down an improved second £27m bid from the Blues.
"He's a world-class player who is very difficult to play against," said Terry. "He has his own problems at the moment.
"I know there are problems. It's probably a little bit disrespectful to Spurs... [to talk about it]"
Spurs have told Modric, who is only 14 months in to a six-year deal at White Hart Lane, that he is not going anywhere, but the Croatian's name continues to be linked with Chelsea.
Terry added: "He's very agile, very quick and a great finisher like we've seen over many years.
"We've got a good squad of players. If he comes he could certainly add to that."
Terry was speaking during Chelsea's pre-season tour of Asia, where they will play a Malaysian All-Star XI on Thursday before taking part in a similar match in Thailand three days later.
